Isle Valen

Isle Valen is a staple piece that was missing in my wardrobe; a light and soft cardigan to be there for me to grab when I'm needing it (and as it turns out -- needing it all the time!). It's an addictive lace stitch, and when you choose one of your favourite colours, it quickly turns into hours of "just-one-more-row".

It's a top-down, open front cardigan with a drapey shawl collar hugging your neck and seamless set-in sleeves giving you a beautiful and classic fit. Little bands of stranded colourwork and cables on the sleeves give the cardigan a rugged bohemian feel and looks great whether you choose a low or high contrast colourwork combo, or even if you use only a single colour throughout.

The lace is both charted and written.

Needles and Notions

The gauge was achieved with the following needle size. To work the pattern as written, you must swatch and use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

2 × 3.25mm (US 3) needles of varying lengths

You will also need: circular needle that is 2 to 3 sizes smaller than your gauge‐size needle for picking up stitches around the armholes; spare needles, scrap yarn, or interchangeable cables for holding sts, stitch markers, removable markers, and a cable needle.
